Lifeboat Foundation
The Lifeboat Foundation is a private foundation devoted to helping young people overcome personal obstacles and pursue avenues of education. The Foundation promotes tolerance, self-esteem, mentoring and education through support of community programs and organizations and the youth they serve.
The Lifeboat Foundation has partnered with the Chijnaya Foundation since 2007, funding our scholarship program for students who have completed secondary school and wish to pursue higher education in regional technical schools or universities. Currently 28 young scholars from five communities receive partial scholarships. Students are pursuing advanced training in a variety of fields, including nursing, agronomy, anthropology, accounting, civil engineering, mining engineering, sociology, auto mechanics, K-12 teaching, tourism, information technology, and business administration.
