Various Livestock Fairs in the District of Pucara

In order to stimulate the local economy in the district of Pucara, a series of Livestock Fairs were organized. These events are of the utmost importance since they allow cattle, alpaca, and sheep breeders to offer their animals in the local market, thus allowing for future enhancement in the genetic quality of the offspring and increasing access to improved economic income for the population.
Fairs were held at:

• Pucara
• Rural Community of Colquejahua: 10th Cattle auction fair for slaughter and breeding.
• Rural Community of Tuni Grande: Reactivation of the FEGAT 2022 economy and cattle auction.
• Rural Community of Angara Bajo: Cattle auction for slaughter and breeding.

These events serve as a meeting place for the different livestock producers in the Puno region, who show their best animals for display and sale. Additionally, it allows the exchange of experiences in raising and managing them.

Craftsmanship Competition Interassociations Lines and Embroidery

As part of the activities scheduled as a prelude to the beginning of the 194th anniversary of Pucara, the Tourism and Crafts Unit of the District Municipality of Pucara together with FONCODES organized an event called the “Great Artisan Contest Pucareño 2022”, with the purpose of recognizing the skills of in their different jobs and/or techniques used in their creation, as well as promoting the craft activity the district is well known for.

On Monday May 30th, the event was held on the front of the Municipal Palace of Pucara. The participating artisans worked in a wide range of categories including:

• Pottery and ceramics (from molds and wheel thrown)
• Hand embroidery (crochet)
• Textiles (knitting with sticks, who displayed their skills by making unique pieces such as turned pots, figures of grotesque art modeled in clay, being the “Hatun Ñakaq” (the cutthroat) the most representative figure in addition to the “Torito de Pucara”
• Hand-woven garments

These items among others were considered by the evaluating jury and the attending public, who chose the winning artisans.

First Meeting of the Beneficiaries of the 2022 Scholarship Program 

Last Sunday May 29th, the young students who were selected to be part of the Chijnaya Foundation and Pro DIA Association’s Scholarship Program in the current year 2022 met at the facilities of the Public Educational Institution No. 70394 – Julio Cesar Tello (located in the same district of Pucara) in order to carry out the first face-to-face meeting, official presentation, and election of its new Board of Directors.

Fellows from the different communities and organizations of our Pro DIA Network were present, and had the opportunity to get to know each other, exchange experiences and interact with each other. It is necessary to specify that the students have their own independent organization called the “Association of Musoq Rijchary Fellows”, and that the election of their new Board of Directors 2022 will follow.

The next meeting is planned to be held in June, in which the working groups will be formed according to the field of study and area of ​​interest, with the purpose of making proposals for projects to be executed in the different communities or organizations of origin as a contribution for the benefit of the local population.

Ferias Ganaderas Varias en el Distrito de Pucara

Con la finalidad de reactivar la economía local en el distrito de Pucara, se vinieron organizando una serie de Ferias Ganaderas, eventos que son de suma importancia ya que permiten que los criadores de ganado vacuno, camélidos y ovino pueden ofrecer sus animales en el mercado local, permitiendo así una mejora en la calidad genética a futuro de las crías, así como posibilitar mejores ingresos económicos a la población.

Se tuvieron ferias en:

• Comunidad Campesina de Colquejahua – X Feria de remate de ganado para camal y reproducción. 
• Comunidad Campesina de Tuni Grande – Reactivación de la economía FEGAT 2022 y remate de ganado.
• Comunidad Campesina de Angara Bajo – Remate de ganado para camal y reproducción.

Estos eventos sirven como punto de encuentro de los distintos productores ganaderos de la región de Puno, quienes muestran sus mejores ejemplares para exhibición y venta. De otro lado, también permite el intercambio de experiencias en la crianza y manejo de los mismos.

Concurso de Artesanía Interasociaciones Líneas y Bordados

Como parte de las actividades programadas como preludio al inicio del aniversario 194 de Pucara, la Unidad de Turismo y Artesanía de la Municipalidad Distrital de Pucara juntamente con el FONCODES organizaron el evento denominado “Gran Concurso Artesano Pucareño 2022” esto con la finalidad de reconocer en los artesanos locales las habilidades en sus distintos trabajos y/o técnicas empleadas en la elaboración de los mismos, así como promover la actividad artesanal, por la que es bastante conocido el distrito.

El día lunes 30 de mayo, se desarrolló el evento en el frontis del Palacio Municipal de Pucara, para lo cual se contó la participación de artesanos en las distintas líneas o categorías: alfarería y cerámica (modelado y torneado), bordados a mano (crochet) y textilería (tejido de punto en palillos, quienes haciendo gala de sus destrezas elaboraron piezas únicas como ollas torneadas, figuras de arte grotesco modelados en arcilla siendo el “Hatun Ñakaq” (el degollador) el más representativo además del “Torito de Pucara”, prendas tejidas a mano, entre otras; las mismas que fueron puestas a consideración del jurado evaluador y del público asistentes, quienes eligieron a los artesanos que resultaron ganadores.

Primera Reunión de los Beneficiarios del Programa de Becas 2022

El pasado domingo 29 de mayo, se dieron cita en las instalaciones de la Institución Educativa Pública Nro. 70394 – Julio Cesar Tello, ubicado en el mismo distrito de Pucara, los jóvenes estudiantes que resultaron seleccionados para formar parte del Programa de Becas de la Fundación Chijnaya & Asociación Pro DIA en el presente año 2022, esto con la finalidad de llevar a cabo la primera reunión presencial, presentación oficial y elección de su nueva Junta Directiva.

Se conto con la presencia de los becarios provenientes de las distintas comunidades y organizaciones de nuestra Red Pro DIA, quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de poder conocerse, intercambiar experiencias e interactuar entre ellos. Es menester precisar que los estudiantes cuentan con una organización propia e independiente que se denomina “Asociación de Becarios Musoq Rijchary” siendo oportuna la elección de su nueva Junta Directiva 2022.

Se tiene prevista una próxima reunión a realizarse en el mes de junio, en la cual se conformarán los grupos de trabajo, de acuerdo al campo de estudio y área de interés, esto con la finalidad de que se realicen las propuestas de proyectos a ejecutar en las distintas comunidades u organizaciones de origen, como un aporte en beneficio de la población local.
